With the invention of the SCHUKO plug, our company founder Albert Büttner set a new standard for electrical connecting devices in 1925. SCHUKO is short for the German 'Schutzkontakt' (protected contact). Because of its circular geometry and two protected contacts, SCHUKO is regarded as especially safe to use in comparison with other electrical connecting device systems.
The success story of Albert Büttner's invention speaks for itself. Today, SCHUKO is the globally most widely used standard for electrical connecting devices.
We have since continued to developed the classic ABL rubber plug further. With innovative technological features and new materials, such as the high performance plastic Elamid, our Hightech and Professional series are the embodiment of contemporary SCHUKO electrical connecting devices.
SCHUKO Professional
Plugs and connectors
SCHUKO Professional products are made from the extremely durable, high performance Elamid plastic. Thanks to their unique two-component technology, our Professional series products provide a good grip, are robust and resilient. We developed the ABL Professional connecting devices series especially for heavy duty trade and industrial applications.

Socket outlets
The SCHUKOplus built-in socket outlet with flanged fixing is made from highly impact resistant thermoplastic, and designed for extremely heavy duty use. SCHUKOplus is perfectly suited to portable applications. Plugged or unplugged – thanks to the integrated rim, SCHUKOplus is always sealed.

SCHUKO Hightech
Plugs and connectors
SCHUKO Hightech devices are manufactured from Elamid high performance plastic, and are our multipurpose connectors for trade applications. With its large wiring space and external strain relief, it is the perfect alternative to the classic ABL rubber plug. Only one screwdriver type required for all screws, and the grip is held in place with a captive screw.

KINK GUARD AND CABLE SEAL
Tightening the screw fixing provides cable seal and kink guard at the same time.
